Our Day Surgery

The Vision Centre Day Surgery is a modern, fully functional theatre facility for patients who are having surgery but do not require admission to a hospital overnight.

The Vision Centre Day Surgery is a fully accredited day surgery located
on the ground floor of the Vision Centre Building in Southport.

Completed in 2000, this state of the art theatre was specially designed for eye surgery and is fitted with the latest technology.

News - February 2010:

Vision Centre Day Surgery was successfully surveyed and re accredited by Globalmark Consulting under the ISO 9001 Standards.

ISO 9001 is an international standard for accreditation. This was the third successful performance by the Day Surgery under Globalmark Survey.

Recording the achievements of the Day Surgery team, the surveyor noted the high standards consistently achieved.

New achievements included a formal software based register for all documentation; improved governing committee structure; and better performance measurement and analysis.

Dr. Roger Welch, of the Vision Centre, commented:

These results demonstrate the competencies of our Day Surgery team; and, special thanks to all staff who contributed to these results. Our patients can have increased confidence that the right systems are in place for a quality operation, and these systems are working to give our patients a quality result from their surgery.
