Vision Centre

Our Practice

Both the Vision Centre Southport and  Markeri Street (Mermaid Beach) Practices strive to provide easy access for elderly and disabled patients as well as a friendly and comfortable environment surrounding your visit.

The Markeri Street Practice has wheel chair ramp access and the Southport offices a stopping bay in the side driveway for easy drop off and pick up of patients and those using wheel chairs or walking frames. One of our friendly parking attendants can direct you to appropriate parking.

Disabled parking spaces are also available close to elevators in the Southport Practice. Parking at both the Markeri and Southport Practices is free of charge for those visiting the Vision Centre. The Southport Vision Centre includes basement car parking for free until 5.30pm every week day.

The Vision Centre building in Southport is also home to Vision Optical, Optometrist office on the ground floor to the right. This is convenient usually making it possible to cover all aspects of eye care in one visit.  Access to Vision Optical is also through the elevators and a handy wheel chair friendly ramp at the side of the building.

Your visit

We aim to make your visit to the Vision Centre as easy, straightforward and pleasant as possible.

If travelling by car you will not have to worry about finding a parking space because we provide ample free parking. If you have mobility issues then you will find our ease of disabled access and convenient parking a great help.

You will be greeted by competent and friendly Doctor's assistants and staff who will help you with the formalities.

Please allow at least an hour for your appointment - you will have a vision check, visual field test and possibly dilating drops, before you see the specialist.

You will not be rushed through - your needs are important to both you and the Vision Centre and we will ensure enough time is available.

Your condition will be clearly explained to you and you will be given a written summary which will also be provided to your other physicians.

Any surgery fees are quoted in 'black and white' - there are no hidden surprises. Most surgery you may require can be performed in the Day Surgery by a Vision Centre Doctor as well as post operative follow up and care. Our surgeries carry a 'free care' period for post operative check up's for a length of time after your surgery (varies according to type of surgery).

You will be encouraged to bring a friend or family member to your consultation if you wish. An on-site cafe is available on the ground floor for those who are not attending your consultation. Alternatively, we have a pleasant, clean and comfortable waiting area.
