Pachymetry

Eye Pressure Testing

This is a test to measure the thickness of the cornea (the front surface of your eye). It is important for diagnosis and management of glaucoma as it helps us to predict the ideal pressure for your eye. Use of pachymetry improves surgical procedure outcomes and allows your doctor to reliably monitor changes in your cornea over time.

Corneal thickness as measured by corneal pachymetry can be an accurate predictor of glaucoma development when combined with standard intraocular pressure measurements. This sees corneal pachymetry used by Vision Centre specialists to better diagnose and detect early cases.
